Francisco Sánchez de Cañete
Francisco Sánchez de Cañete is a director and motion designer based in Los Angeles, California.
Hailing from Spain, Francisco studied fine arts in Seville before founding Materia Espiritual in 2004, a multidisciplinary collective exploring painting, performance and digital production, and then OUIEA, a creative studio, in 2009. From 2011 to 2017, he worked in Berlin with studios including Onformative, Tamschick, Schokolade, Congaz and Omstudios. In 2017, he made the move to LA to work with studios including The Mill, Elastic, Buck, Prologue, Hammer Creative and Greenhaus GFX.
He has contributed to title sequences for TV series Star Trek: Discovery (2017) and films Wonder Woman (2017) and Pacific Rim: Uprising (2018). In 2015, he was awarded a gold medal for motion graphics at the New York Film Festival and in 2017, a Grand Award at the World Media Festival.
